What do most people blog about?

What are most people blogging about?

One particular website was curious about how the breakdown of posts by topic from blogs would differ from mainstream media. After obtaining results and charting them, they noted that they were "blown away by the contrasts"

Blogging for thought?

How can we use the given information when asking our students to use blogs as an educational tool?

What type of blogging is considered classroom appropriate?

Should classroom blogs be structured or should we let our students write about the topics that interest them?

Those are some great visual aids!

As for your questions--I'd like to see structured and unstructured blogging used in the classroom--maybe directions for entries can vary.

Is that pie chart very accurate? If so, we live in a sad, sad place. The chart really makes me think about Noam Chomsky's Manufacturing Consent. I think that these two graphs show how the mainstream media has perfectly bestowed what they want the people to be interested in.

Democratic Propaganda at it's best.

I can also see both..could be like an interactive writer's notebook where students have an opportunity to write about something they are interested in or thinking about...could also be a great place for students to respond to a prompt (like what they thought about a chapter from the book the class is reading). Then students can comment if they felt similarly or what not..
